Long Time Coming
Patricia Marilyn is a talented Gospel-inspired R&B singer and songwriter who has been captivating audiences with her soulful voice and inspiring lyrics. Born and raised in a musically inclined family, Patricia developed a love for music at a young age and began honing her skills as a singer and songwriter.
Her brother Douglas was a keyboardist in his own right and would teach his little sister the beginnings of jazz progressions when not touring with his band, Grand Theft.
Having begun her formal study of music at the age of 8, studying piano with world-renowned husband and wife team, Music instructors Patience Scales and Charles M. Hudspeth, Patricia made her classical music debut playing at the War Memorial Opera House in San Francisco at the age of 13. During summers and in her spare time, she wrote poetry in her journals.
Drawing inspiration from her faith and personal experiences, Patricia creates music that speaks to the heart and soul of her listeners. Her Gospel-inspired R&B-rooted sound blends elements of soulful melodies, uplifting harmonies, and powerful lyrics that inspire and uplift the human spirit.
